Green The Block Charlotte – Eastland Mall
Created by the Hip Hop Caucus and Green For All, Green The Block is a national campaign and coalition aimed at helping low-income communities of color become driving forces of the clean-energy economy. Day one of this weekend series of community events in Charlotte will feature a rally with the Rev. Lennox Yearwood of the Hip Hop Caucus, singer D. Woods, rapper Lupe Fiasco, and other special invited guests. The event will also feature a street soccer tournament and a green job information fair. Fab 5 Fridays
It’s a new after-work social networking event (last week’s was held at On the Roxx) and it’s taking place at one of Uptown’s coolest lounges. Enjoy a free food buffet and drink specials. Music by DJ Shogun. Presented by and Firm Events. 5-9 p.m. Free. Fiji Sushi Bar and Lounge, 116 W. Fifth St.

Lupe Fiasco with B.o.B.
See two great hip-hop stars perform live. 8 p.m. $40. Halton Arena, UNC Charlotte, 9201 University City Blvd.

The Best of 2 Worlds
Two top DJs—the internationally known Latin DJ, Julian Serrano of Miami, and Atlanta’s popular DJ by way of Puerto Rico, DJ EU—share the same stage. Presented by Miami Nights. 10 p.m. Cost varies. The Forum, 300 N. College St.

Saturday, April 24

NFL Carwash Fundraiser
Get your car washed by Thomas Davis and other Carolina Panthers in support of the Thomas Davis Defending Dreams Foundation. 10 a.m.-2 p.m. Minimum $10 donation. Parking lot of Skatell’s Jewelers at Carolina Place Mall, 9433 Pineville Matthews Rd.

Green The Block Charlotte – Belmont Neighborhood
Day two of this weekend series of community events in Charlotte will feature a green job information fair, an in-home weatherization project, healthy food cooking demonstrations, community gardening, volunteer opportunities, and more. Presented by The Green Pages USA and Concrete2Green. 11 a.m-3 p.m. Free. Little Sugar Creek Greenway, Belmont Neighborhood. or

Charlotte Bobcats vs. Orlando Magic
Down 2-0 in the series, the Bobcats try to rebound against the Magic in their first-ever home playoff game. Game is sold out, but you can most likely buy tickets from scalpers outside of Time Warner Cable Arena. Otherwise, find a sports bar (or watch at home) and root for the home team. 2 p.m. Airing on Fox Sports Carolinas and TNT.

Lelia Broussard and Bess Rogers Spring Tour
Come out for a great night of singer/songwriter music. 7-10 p.m. $8 in advance. The Evening Muse, 3227 D. Davidson St., in NoDa.

PlayDate Charlotte Is Turning 1
It’s been a year since Charlotte joined the list of cities offering PlayDate. Come play card games, checkers, dominoes, Connect Four, Twister, Monopoly, old-school video games, and more while enjoying music and drinks. Hosted by Rafiq and Bluz, with music by DJ Bro-Rabb. 9 p.m.-2 a.m. $10 in advance, $15 at the door. Sheraton Charlotte Airport Hotel, 3315 Scott Futrell Dr.

Dernier Cri – Traffic Light Edition

Gerald Wallace Celebrity Playoff Party
Fresh off of what hopefully will be a playoff victory, the NBA All-Star will host this party. Other celebrity guests and teammates are expected to attend. Say Ahhh Tour
