Kendra James, whom some of you might remember from the Bad Girls Club reality TV show (or you may have partied with her in clubs), is attempting to make some major changes in her life. She wants to shed her bad girl image for good and start making better decisions, and she feels that building a relationship with God and surrounding herself with positive people is how she'll get there. This Sunday, she's getting baptized at Elevation Church. She told me all about her emotional and spiritual journey, during my interview with her for Creative Loafing, which you can read about: "Kendra James: From ‘Bad Girl’ to baptism."

Enjoy the slideshow I created from Saturday's E Pluribus Unum Opening Reception with Respect My Vote, using Storify (click here) and incorporating tweets, posts, and photos from Twitter, Facebook, and Instagram by several of the event's attendees. And there's a YouTube video I captured of Quentin "Q" Talley's spoken word.

I interviewed Charlotte native and Bad Girls Club star Kendra James last week as she was home for a few days while on spring break. You can read the results of that interview in the article I wrote ("Catching up with Bad Girl Kendra James") in the March 17-23 issue of Creative Loafing, which is online now and hitting newsstands over the next day. James is getting an extension on her reality TV shelf life because as season four of Bad Girls Club is finishing up with part one of a two-part reunion show tonight at 10 p.m. on Oxygen, the new spinoff show, Love Games: Bad Girls Need Love Too, is airing immediately following and stars James alongside two BGC cast members from past seasons.

In the Creative Loafing article, you can read about the new dating show as well as how James handles the love and the hate she gets from TV viewers who enjoy watching the drama-filled Bad Girls Club as much as they like to diss the girls who are on it.

UPDATE: "Kendra James Isn't So 'Bad'"
Season four of the Bad Girls Club premiered last night on Oxygen. It appears that it's going to be another hot mess, and the train that's bound to wreck is carrying a young lady from Charlotte, Kendra James.

Kendra doesn't seem to be the worst of the pack--so far that trophy goes to Natalie--but because she made the show, I'm sure she's going to show some ugly sides this season. I can't understand why a person would go on a "reality" show that has the sole purpose of putting together a group of hot-tempered, egotistical women with bad attitudes, keep them liquored up and watch them try to fight.
But we have someone on there representing Charlotte. Hopefully she does us proud!
Click here for Kendra's bio on the Bad Girls Club's website (where it's revealed that she has a twin sister who is supposedly the opposite of her). You'll also want to read her Q&A, which pretty much only asks her questions about sex.
If you missed last night's premiere, you can watch it when it re-airs tonight at 8 p.m. New episodes premiere Tuesdays at 10 p.m.
